The Hon. Stephen Robertson Minister for Health and the Queensland Cerebral Palsy Register Manager, Michael deLacy, officially launched the Queensland Cerebral Palsy Register on the 16th of August 2005.

The first child to submit a registration, three-year old Kai Watling, and his mother, Raylene Watling, were also in attendance and signed on to the Register.

"Nothing is definite," Ms Watling said, "and I hope initiatives such as the Register will make in-roads into understanding and eventually preventing this disability."
